Weekly Wine Education and Tasting

Join us at Rimann Liquors of Briarcliff every Thursday, Friday and Saturday as we offer an educational tasting of wines. Each week we offer a selection of wines at our in-store tasting bar, and each week the wines will represent a different theme chosen by a member of our knowledgeable wine-loving staff. Sometimes the wines may all be of a certain varietal, other times a different region, or maybe a chance to compare and contrast different styles. Whatever the theme, our purpose is to help you expand your horizons and learn more about the wonderful world of wine.

Thursdays and Fridays, we roll out the wine bar at 2:00pm and
Noon on Saturdays.

August 23-25

Grenache

Grenache is among the most widely planted grape varieties in the world.  From humble beginnings on the island of Sardinia, Grenache caught like wildfire in the sunny regions of Spain and Southern France and eventually found its way to the wine regions of Australia.  It produces racy, fruity wines that are bursting with flavor.  Come and sample wines from the major growing regions of the world and see why this wine is skyrocketing in popularity.

August 30-September 1

Northern Italy

Northern Italy is home to many of the classic wine regions of the country.  Contrasting with the sun-drenched areas of the South, the Alpine areas of the North don’t initially seem to fit in with our traditional concepts of Italy.  The regions of Piedmont and the Tre Venezie produce some of the most complex and refined wines in Europe.  We will be sampling a few of the representative wines that are quite varied and refreshing departures from the mainstream Tuscan and Southern Italian norm.
