What's in Red Wine

that is good for the heart?

Non-alcoholic phytochemicals in wine, such as flavanoids and resveratrol, act as antioxidents and prevent molecules known as “free radicals” from causing cellular damage in the body.

Resveratrol, found in grape skins and seeds, increases HDL cholesterol and prevent blood clotting.  Flavonoids, on the other hand, exhibit antioxidant properties helping prevent blood clots and plaque formation in arteries.
