Shake It

Many cocktail recipes call for the ingredients to be shaken using a cocktail shaker.  Shaking is a simple technique that, with a little practice and by following a few tips, you'll master in no time.

Here's How:

• Place ice cubes in the shaker first. This will chill the shaker and cool the liquids as you add them.
• Use 5-6 ice cubes for one drink.
• When making two drinks at once use less ice to make room in the shaker.
• Don't overfill the shaker. Give the ingredients plenty of room to move around.
• Shake most drinks vigorously to a slow count of ten.
• Shake drinks longer and harder that have many ingredients or ingredients that don't mix well such as eggs or cream.
• Shake to a rhythm. Hum a tune and shake to the beat.
• Shake frozen or blended drinks like daiquiris and coladas with crushed ice.
• Don't add fruit to the shaker. Instead add it to the glass after straining.

Chocolate Mint Cookie

 Chocolate Orange Martini

• Godiva Chocolate Vodka
• Absolut Mandrin
• splash of Grand Marnier

Shake ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker and serve in a martini glass.  Garnish with an orange slice.

Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Royale

• 1 ounce Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Infused Vodka
• 1/2 ounce Crème de Cassis
• Champagne

Combine Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Infused Vodka and Crème de Cassis in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.  Shake well and strain into a Champagne flute.  Top off drink with chilled Champagne.

Godiva Chocolatini

This recipe could be used with either of the two flavors.

• 1/2-ounce Godiva Chocolate Infused or Chocolate Raspberry Infused Vodka
• 1 1/4 ounces Kahlúa
• 1 1/4 ounces dark crème de cocoa

Shake all ingredients, with ice, in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
