NOT YOUR GRANDMA’S OATMEAL COOKIES Created by Jon Payne
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg; set aside In a medium bowl, cream the butter, oil, brown sugar and the white sugar, and the zest of on orange until smooth. Beat in one egg at a time. Gradually stir in the sifted ingredients until well blended. Mix in the oats and the butterscotch chips. Let the dough rest and eat the orange you got the zest from and the dough will be ready. Drop from a teaspoon the cookie dough onto the parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 min. or until the edged are golden. Let set up on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool. While the cookies are cooling, prepare the glaze.
Whisk together the confections’ sugar and the orange brandy. Put it into a zipped bag and cut the tiny corner off and drizzle over the cookies.
